The Ritz-Carlton Residences
As Miami Art Week approaches, a new generation of residential developments is opening their doors to the public, transforming their grounds into accessible art destinations. This year, three remarkable installations showcase how contemporary architecture and fine art are converging to create experiences that benefit entire communities while drawing international attention to Miami’s evolving neighborhoods.
Ocean Terrace Park: A Landmark Sculpture Transforming North Beach
On Miami Beach’s quieter North Beach shoreline, Ocean Terrace has unveiled a six-acre oceanfront park anchored by a striking public sculpture. The development, designed by the legendary Robert AM Stern Architects—the Manhattan-based firm known for creating residences for billionaires—commissioned French artist Prune Nourry to create her first permanent public art installation in the United States.
Titled “Reflection,” the monumental sculpture depicts a serene face resting on its side, measuring 25 feet long and 8 feet high. The work honors women’s service in World War II, particularly those who served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Surrounded by lush landscaping by renowned designer Raymond Jungles, the sculpture sits gracefully within the park’s oceanfront promenade.
Prune Nourry’s work has garnered international acclaim, with admirers including celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence. The artist’s ability to blend monumental scale with intimate emotional resonance makes “Reflection” a natural fit for Ocean Terrace’s vision of creating an exclusive yet welcoming destination. North Beach itself has long served as an understated counterpart to South Beach, prized for its residential character, beautiful beaches, and iconic architecture—qualities that make it an ideal setting for this contemplative artwork.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences: A Bold New Artwalk Inspired by Morris Lapidus
At the intersection of Lincoln Road and the ocean stands another ambitious public art initiative. The Ritz-Carlton Residences, South Beach, a new condominium rising behind the existing Ritz-Carlton and Sagamore hotels, is partnering with the Morris Lapidus Foundation to complete designs the legendary architect envisioned but never realized during his lifetime.
Morris Lapidus fundamentally shaped modern Miami Beach, and his influence on Lincoln Road—the world’s most famous Art Deco pedestrian street—remains undeniable. The developers are investing millions into a public Artwalk that will eventually span the 100 block of the corridor, beginning with a preview piece during Miami Art Week. The inaugural artwork, created by artist KEF!, draws inspiration from Lapidus’s architectural legacy and will eventually relocate to the permanent Lincoln Road Artwalk once construction concludes in the coming years.
