Napa Valley, CA
Festival Napa Valley returns July 4–19 for its 20th anniversary summer season, bringing music, opera, dance, film, wellness programming, culinary events, and admission-free performances to venues across Napa Valley.
The milestone year is anchored by one especially fitting premiere: The Judgment of Paris, a new one-act opera by composer Jake Heggie and librettist Gene Scheer. Commissioned for Festival Napa Valley’s 20th anniversary, the work is inspired by the 1976 blind tasting that helped establish California wine on the global stage. The opera is scheduled to premiere July 18 at Charles Krug.
The broader season moves across classical music, jazz, dance, film, wellness, and food-and-wine programming. Renée Fleming and Wynton Marsalis are among the marquee names, while other performances and events bring the festival into wineries, resorts, estates, and arts venues throughout the valley.

Food and wine are most visible through Taste of Napa, the festival’s signature tasting event, scheduled for Saturday, July 11, at The Meritage Resort and Spa. The afternoon event brings together Napa Valley wineries, restaurants, breweries, and culinary producers, making it one of the clearest links between the festival’s arts programming and the region’s food-and-wine scene.
For visitors planning a longer stay, the July timing makes the festival a natural anchor for a Napa Valley trip. Performances are spread across the valley rather than concentrated in one hall, allowing attendees to pair concerts and events with restaurants, winery visits, resort stays, and time in the surrounding towns.
Alongside ticketed concerts and patron events, Festival Napa Valley also offers admission-free programming, including daytime concerts, youth and family-focused performances, and a Choose Your Price model for select concerts.
