The Masters Tournament is scheduled for April 6–12, with competition rounds running Thursday through Sunday, April 9–12, at Augusta National Golf Club. The tournament begins with practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday, the Par 3 Contest on Wednesday, and then four days of tournament play.

What the event is known for starts with the course itself. Augusta National’s layout—first opened in 1933 and designed by Bobby Jones and Alister MacKenzie—has become one of the most recognizable venues in sport. The back nine in particular shapes how the tournament unfolds, with a stretch of holes where momentum can shift quickly as players balance aggressive shots against the risk that comes with Augusta’s water hazards and tightly contoured greens. Longstanding traditions highlight the tournament, from the Honorary Starters opening the first round to the green jacket presentation on Sunday evening.

Around Augusta National during Masters week, Washington Road—the main corridor outside the club—fills with restaurants, gathering spots, and tournament-week pop-ups that run from early morning through the evening. A short drive away, downtown Augusta offers a different pace along the Augusta Riverwalk, where the path along the Savannah River connects to stops like the Morris Museum of Art and the Augusta Museum of History. For time outdoors beyond the course, the Augusta Canal towpath provides walking and cycling routes along the historic canal, while nearby Phinizy Swamp Nature Park offers trails just outside the city center.
