One of the many luxuries of living in DFW is the abundance of state-of-the-art golfing communities in and around the region. Green grass and towering trees that have stood through several passing iterations of the Lone Star State set the tone for the lush Texas landscape on which many pristine golf courses have been built. The spectacular homes and communities that surround these courses make Dallas and its surrounding areas true sanctuaries of tranquility. Below are four of our favorite golfing communities around Dallas.
Bent Tree Country Club: Located 15 miles from downtown Dallas, the quiet neighborhoods surrounding the Bent Tree Country Club are home to some of the most exquisite architecture in the greater Dallas area. Founded in 1972, the club features an eighteen-hole course originally designed by renowned architect Desmond Muirhead and renovated by Keith Foster in 2003. The course has hosted several high-level tournaments, including six Senior PGA Tour events and two LPGA Tour events. One would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else that offers both quiet, peaceful living next to an esteemed country club and convenience to the city and all it offers.
The Lakes at Castle Hills – Located in Lewisville, just roughly 40 minutes outside of Dallas, the Castle Hills master-planned community is a tasteful blend of work, play, and leisure. Founded in 1998, the entire community comprises 4,300 spacious and luxurious homes across 2,900 acres. While the community contains conveniently located shops, restaurants, and office space, its crown jewel is The Lakes at Castle Hills club. The course has hosted PGA Tour qualifying tournaments and national events organized by the PGA of America and USGA, and is widely regarded as one of the best championship courses in North Texas. With stunning lakes, natural streams, and large wetland areas, the innate beauty of the surrounding environment is present at every hole. For the avid golfer, living minutes away from a course this immaculate may be too hard to pass up.

Homes built by the finest developers in Dallas sit on large plots of lush, tree-filled land. The Gleneagles Country Club, serving as the heartbeat of the community, features two eighteen-hole championship courses—the King’s and Queen’s Courses—designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge. The King’s Course underwent a significant renovation in 2017 led by Damian Pascuzzo and Steve Pate. Known for its elegant clubhouse and family-friendly amenities, the club offers a well-rounded experience for golfers and non-golfers alike.
Stonebriar Country Club – Located in Frisco, 40 minutes outside of Dallas, Stonebriar is a gorgeous community of 1,200 custom-built homes. Blending luxury and inclusivity, the community offers homes in a variety of sizes, meaning a young family looking to expand or an older couple looking to downsize will both find their perfect fit. Inside the community is the prestigious Stonebriar Country Club, founded in 1988. The club features two distinct courses: the Country Club Course, designed by Joe Finger and Ken Dye, and the Fazio Course, designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2000. The Country Club Course provides a classic playing experience, while the Fazio Course showcases dramatic elevation changes and modern architectural elements.
